BW - I can't help thinking that the silence around the £400k is much less around the legal case and much more around embarrassment about the loss. If you are running a business competently you simply don't put yourself in a position where you pay out £400k in advance for something with no security over the money in the event that you don't receive the good/ services. So long as we aren't able to discuss it, all of those awkward questions don't get to be asked.

The club has said that revealing the company could damage the chance of getting any bad debt back - if people cared for our finances they would let the thing run its course. 1) we know the club lost c£400k, 2) we know when 3) we know it’s unlikely to be recovered 4) we know a provision was made for it 2-3 years ago

Really not up to speed on this £400k thing (like most others, I guess) but on what could we possibly have even spent that amount? And in one go…? Big IT contract? The floodlights? I mean, short of players (and obviously not for that amount…) or major stadium upgrades, I just can conceive of what it might be. And surely, most things would be on some sort of staged payment, not all upfront. Maybe I just lack imagination.

Who authorised the spend? There must have been a Purchase Order. Can we see who signed that off?

Either way it still doesn’t excuse the fact that no board member of either board has mentioned or even acknowledged the £400,000 that was authorised spend from our accounts for no return and no status update since. This despite begging fans and members for donations.

Going back to the reference to the Scotland case in the DTB minutes, part of me thinks that was left in deliberately as a red herring, just to give the illusion they still have this as a live issue. Maybe they thought it would be fun to watch supporters try to figure out what it relates to when it probably relates to nothing.

Not sure the Kilmarknock court case is relevant to us having just researched it. Their case is against the supplier of their pies v Brownings the Bakers and concerns who owns the trademark for the famoua "killie pie"

I get more confused by the vagaries of VAR. According to Webb if Foden hadn't been sent off by the referee, the ref would have been sent to the monitor. Then apparently he would not only have sent Foden off but booked Fernandes. I thought VAR couldn't interfere in yellow card offences.
