 On the Isle of Wight taxi situation, Spit is right about the elderly and their lack of use of Apps here. The bus pass generation make a significant number of bus users here. By and large our bus service here is pretty good and there's a Taxi driver community that are barely scratching a living. I was speaking to a drive yesterday. There was a massive shock that no indication that a licence approach was made until it was granted. I agree with Trigger about the local taxis needing to co-operate and get an App based system in place themselves. It won't address the issues mentioned earlier though. Local loyalty isn't helped when the Council do this type of move, with drivers having just paid a ton of fees, only to hear this news weeks later.
