Not a good look following the announcement of the Chelsea deal it’s not necessarily the cause but quite an easy connection to make in the absence of any real logic. A sponsor’s brand is their brand and a big part of that is the visual identity particularly the colours.

We are Wimbledon. Wimbledon are yellow and blue. Why would we want a sponsor whose visual identity is also yellow and blue to change it to blue and white? I can’t think of a single justifiable reason for that.
Time to sell up,no point carrying on with this farce

This is odd. The club are desperate for money, aren't they?

Paul Strank has posted on FAcebook the following: It is with great sadness and disappointment to announce that after decades of supporting and sponsoring the club, we have been given no choice but to terminate our new six-figure, two-year stand sponsorship deal as the club impose we change our stand branding to blue & white and remove our famous yellow & black branding. We really did not want to make this public but as fans ourselves, we're extremely disappointed with how this club is being run and as proud business owners, it's sad to see a club desperate for money turn down ours who have backed the club since the beginning - especially in this economic climate. Again, we are fans as much as you and it's sad to see the club not keeping community at heart where it once thrived. Paul Strank

Dean Parsons All sponsors are being told to uniform their branding with the stadium or walk away unfortunately. Not a good look in bringing new sponsors on board either as they aren't getting a lot for their money.

Their long standing sponsorship may be over according to Mr Strank.
Hearing bad things from Paul Strank Roofing in terms of their ongoing sponsorship.

Trigger: I think each of the three host nations have their own opening ceremonies. So that's 3 times the fun!

Or 3 times the boredom. YMMV
I expect Curacao to be better than most people might expect given their Dutch background

So don't expect to see dancing fans from Senegal of (DR) Congo, formerly Zaire, dancing to a tribal beat
From what I've seen of people generally asking US citizens about the World Cup I don't think anyone there would notice.

Hash - imagine if America don’t make it to the next round, I wonder if the rest of the tournament would get cancelled…?

Morocco being Afican Champs albeit by default
I'm sure Curacao and others will adopt the Andorran 8-2-0 formation to deny Germany any space

When I look through the early fixtures of the World Cup there really isn’t much interest there at all. Hopefully the second round of group stage games will be a little more exciting. Netherlands v Japan probably the first game with any real footballing credibility and that’s not til Sunday evening UK time.

Definitely not watching the opening ceremony but am at least glad that’s happening in Mexico so won’t be Infantino giving Trump a reach around.
I've put a bet on the 12 teams to finish bottom of their groups, with Curaçao being one of those. Should give me some interest in the games for the first couple of weeks (or less if any of them wins a game).

I'm intrigued by the Germany v Curacao WC group game on Sunday. Are Curacao the smallest ever nation (pop 158,000) to compete in the WC?
