 a4e - I am afraid that speaking as a woman I am really dismayed that others of my sex make stuff like this up. The consequences could have been awful and it also betrays those who are genuinely victims of this sort of thing. Also, as a woman and the mother of one, I have to say that Englishmen are more, shall we say, decent in their behaviour towards women than most other nationalities, including our fellow-Europeans.
