How can a player look totally bewildered and horrified by being cautioned for waving an imaginary card? It is a cautioning offence, just don't do it.

6MDM – I’m an optimist – no apologies there. I look for and try to offer practical solutions (many of which I’m pleased to say have been at least partially adopted by the Club over the last 12 months – obviously purely coincidentally). There is an awful lot of whinging on this forum - a doom and gloom acceptance that failure is inevitable. Clearly you won’t agree with everything I put forward (although I’m glad that you don’t disagree with everything) but I have yet to see any constructive success strategy from you.

Thatcher referred to us as 'little Wimbledon' in parliament. The Pointless question was something like 'name a team that's only won the FA Cup once. Wimbledon was one pointless answer. No-one on the show thought of it, but just about everyone watching from these parts were probably screaming at the telly, throwing bog rolls, beer cans, etc etc.

Not sure any football team has had as much impact in pop culture as Wimbledon FC of the late 80s/early 90s.

I think we got a mention on "not the nine o'clock news" back in the day. Subject was subeteo (sp?) and they were looking at a team with broken pieces. One said to the other, "what happened to them?" with the response, "they've just played Wimbledon"

For the record, I disagree with almost everything WIJG posts. His idea of what a football is for and represents is totally alien to me. Yes, his posts are long (so are mine) and he quite happily talks about his wealth, how successful he is, etc. That's up to him. If he irritates you, ignore him. Much of what he says is repetitive, exaggerated and living in a dreamworld. However, he is never rude or offensive to any individual so let him get on with it and ignore him if he bothers you.
