That article made two names pop into my head: Sam Hammam and Karl Williams. It made him seem a bit "non-league" in terms of being a bit of an Arthur Daley figure. But I guess that's the sort of person who chances their arm on lower Football League clubs these days.

Further info published by the DTB: [Link] Unfortunately still does not answer the key Q around the stadium ie is it included in the economic rights deal? If it is, although SSC could not sell the stadium without DT approval, they would own 90% of its value within three years.

What problems, if any, does that present? I have no idea, but I really wish they would answer this question fully.
Yeah that scenario comes a cropper with our expensive-to-run stadium. National League gate receipts would see us in administration pretty quickly I think.

There's possibly a forth option; slash the playing budget to eliminate operating deficits and cash leakage and accept relegation back into non league. Whether that would be able to pay off the £7.5m is another qurstion

Feels about right RK. And any option involves losing control eventually. I wish the board had investigated a pitch owners solution and I wish the board members presenting this deal hadn’t lost all trust by their nefarious actions over the last few years.

I think Mr Mir would do well to be present and spend time meeting members. Personally I’m not really fussed about how he’s made his money, I’d just like to know that he’s in this for reasons I can believe. At the moment it’s too shady to launch into with verve and that’s a shame.
RK - spot on except that the next best is 6 months away and a group we've already said no thanks to and would know that a different deal had been turned down by the members and theirs might be too.

I think there are THREE options - 1) take the deal on the table from SSC (or next best) and hope it works out, 2) sell the whole club and hope it works out & 3) go into Admin in 2027 (?) and hope it works out

Nicander it rules out some genuinely good owners though. Tony Bloom seemed to make his money from gambling. Not the most reputable source of wealth but he’s done a great job at Brighton.

Ian - someone with a known public profile and clear source of funds would be a start, as it establishes trust. Look at Reynolds at Wrexham for instance. Wrexham Trust had no Qs about who he was, where he came from or why he was interested, though they may have had other concerns.

No re: ex-Don. I think the question around the Senior Football Adviser is simply what is the experience and expertise they have to be in irrevocable control of all our football operations? With respect to an incredible playing career, Bertrand has never been a manager, coach, academy manager, scout or director of football.
Question. Who would people consider a good person to invest in the club? Also, if SSC was "fronted" by an ex Don instead of RB would that sway people?
