I see Luton tickets are going on sale on Monday evening. No first dibs for supporters who attended more than 10 away games last season this time. It looks like it will be a free-for-all bun fight. Given there will still be nearly 2 weeks to the game is this really the fairest approach?

I only highlight problems, Stu — don’t ask me for answers 😉. In all seriousness, I’d be sending a questionnaire to all current and former Dons Trust board members to get their views. As you rightly point out, those of us on the outside can only ever offer a fairly narrow perspective. The questionnaire would include a range of questions about their time on the board — things like: • Did you enjoy it? • What did you learn? • What would you change? • Did you feel supported in the role? • What would you recommend to any future applicants? Hopefully, the responses would give us a much clearer view of where the real issues lie. From where I sit now — and without wanting to oversimplify — I’d also be looking at alternative governance models that keep the option of fan-ownership but maybe function more effectively. For example, the German model sees members electing representatives directly to the football club board, rather than having two separate structures. Or we could consider the Spanish model used by clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid, where members elect a club president, who then personally guarantees a portion of the club’s budget and appoints the rest of their board. Either way, there are examples out there worth studying — especially if members want to stay fan-owned but sharpen up how we actually run things.

I have no doubt it's difficult and I imagine with things the way they are it's not gonna get easier anytime soon.
